TechArtICT: Dreamgrass

In Fall 2022, TechArtICT installed Dreamgrass at Exploration Place. The installation was presented as part of the Tallgrass Film Festival. Dreamgrass described a dystopian world where a corporate conglomerate called Happy Corp proudly demonstrated its aggressive use of 80s technology to pacify children.

Dreamgrass at Exploration Place, October 2022

Dreamgrass featured Wichita artists Ernie Kind, Tom McGuire, Kyra Rubinstein, Pankaja Withanachchi, Meghan Miller and me. I worked with Pankaja to lead and organize the initiative, working closely with Tallgrass Film Association and Exploration Place.

My specific projects at Dreamgrass included The Incubator, The Game, and TV Mountain.

The video was projected…

In 2014 I joined with 5 other local creatives to found MakeICT, Wichita’s first Makerspace. MakeICT has grassroots beginnings, initially starting as weekly conversations in The Donut Whole. Soon we were renting 250 sq. ft inside Bluebird Arthouse in the Delano district and supplying our own equipment, bootstrapping the beginnings of a Makerspace. We applied…
